Plastic Plant Confession

True confession time... I own plastic flowers and display them proudly. I also sell them at my antique booth. Check out the photo evidence. But please, before you judge me you should know that I prefer real flowers and plants in my home. I would buy hydrangeas, but every time I do they wilt after just a few days. That's why Hydrangeas are my only exception to fake plants. You will not find another in my house. Cross My Heart. Also, in my defense, I have even tried to grow hydrangeas only to fail miserably... but that's another post.

The Perfect Room

The perfect treasures to fill my home are often not perfect at all. I do not believe things must be new or expensive to be appreciated. I love all things worn, chippy and old. Having three boys makes this the most practical choice. However, I think it is the blend of old and new that gives a home charm. If you love antiques and everything in your home is old, consider adding a modern stainless piece to waken your room. If you love modern, consider adding an architectural piece that is old and chippy. This will give your room warmth and character and still feel modern. If you are lucky enough to own family heirlooms, pull them out and find new uses for them. I believe every room needs a little imperfection to make it perfect.

Divine Living

Is it possible to create the life you want to live? This question haunts me. I am always in search of that illusive item that will make my home the perfect sanctuary. I buy garden and home magazines and pour over the images of homes and places that someday I might recreate or maybe own. I am not sure if this habit is keeping me from living in the present or if it is the inspiration for me to continue to try and create the life I want to live. I am not discontent in the present, rather a seeker of divine living. You know the place... where life is simple and beautiful.
